Move to restore tourism between Vietnam and Russia

(Saigon Investment) - The T&T Group and the VR-Logistic Group of Russia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement the CV-PASS to travellers, and once again revive the current flagging tourism industry, by restoring confidence for safe travel between Vietnam and Russia.

On 24 March, the T&T Russia Company Ltd, a subsidiary of T&T Group, Vietnam, and its Russian partner, the CV-PASS Company of VR-Logistic Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in providing mutual assistance in information and technology solutions, and create a platform for safe tourism between Russia and Vietnam, in the current scenario of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The CV-PASS is a certification for individuals who have developed immunity to the Covid-19 disease, which also includes those who were infected with Covid-19 but have now recovered fully, as well as individuals who have been vaccinated and are rendered safe for travel. The CV-PASS is a global initiative to facilitate travel and restart the travel industry, reopen events that call for crowds, and establish high-quality and international safety standards for travel in the current restrictive scenario.

Mr. Andrey Kolmogorov, General Director of CV-PASS, affirmed that this cooperation agreement will not only serve as a premise for future comprehensive strategic joint ventures between Russia and Vietnam, but will also mark the beginning of a new period in cooperation between Russian and Vietnamese enterprises. Mr. Kolmogorov emphasized that in order to revive the economy, Vietnamese and Russian firms need to quickly adapt to the new normal, increase exchange of information and experiences, apply new technology solutions, including rapid antibody testing tools and related software for verification of Covid-19 immunity at airports, thereby facilitating a revival of safe travel.

According to Mr. Evghniy Petrishev, CEO of VR-Logistic Group, a key orientation of VR-Logistic activities is cooperating with Vietnam, particularly in tourism, trade, and import-export. Mr Petrishev expressed his trust in the prestige, experience, and strong potential of the T&T Group, and how the cooperation between the two sides would bring positive results, by opening passenger transport routes and tourist markets between Vietnam and Russia in coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Hung Viet, Head of T&T Russia Company Ltd, said that before the Covid-19 pandemic, Russian tourists considered Vietnam as their favorite destination for sightseeing, travel, and relaxation, with nearly one million visitors a year. The T&T Russia Group hopes to promote cooperation with Russian partners so that more and more Vietnamese people can get acquainted with the rich culture and spiritual heritage of Russia.

Mr. Hung Viet said that through cooperation with CV-PASS and VR-Logistic Group of Russia, Vietnam would work towards restarting the tourism industry and bring back a flow of tourists. The plan is to welcome back one million Russian visitors very year, and also minimize social distancing and quarantine period of fourteen days. At the same time, this will also attract Russian investors who are looking for overseas investment channels in view of the virulent spreading of the disease across many countries.
